The Equipment Department provides technical services that enable TTX to
supply the rail industry with reliable equipment that meets their
needs. Within the Equipment Department, Engineering provides valued
technical expertise for improving component and car performance and
life. Engineering also develops specifications to upgrade cars to meet
current industry requirements.
Maintenance Planning specifies and schedules maintenance of cars to two Company-owned repair entities,
Field Maintenance Operations (FMOs) and the
Southeastern Repair Division
(SRD). The Equipment Department keeps TTX on the leading edge of rail
industry technical advancements and car maintenance practices.
